Dan from the group gives an account of his time at the session:
Well, thinking about it I’m not sure how long I’ve been going to Masque youth theatre. I started when I was 9, the minimum age at the time, and since then I’d estimate I’ve missed about 3 or 4 sessions in total. So yeah, I’ve got my money’s worth out of the group. MYT has really boosted my confidence over the years I’d say, and I’ve seen the group change and evolve with me. From the many years of Ursula’s lead, to the absolute chaos (and admittedly fun) year with Chris and Louis, to the tight-knit and incredibly intriguing sessions of the now under Tom and Amy. When I first joined, I was a shy, held back little kid, and now I’m confident, outgoing and enthusiastic young man with hair that can fill a room. As a group, Masque Youth is unfortunately facing possible extinction due to lack of numbers, but those few people have more concentration than at any other time that I’ve been with the group. The group helped me get into acting, and acting is now what I now ultimately want to do. The group over the years has shaped this opinion, without a doubt. And even though I suspect this will be my final year, I can safely say that I will remember my time in it for far longer.
