Dungeness by Chris Thompson

Dungeness poster 1.3[14292]

In a remote part of the UK, where nothing ever happens, a group of teenagers share a safe house for LGBT+ young people.

While their shared home welcomes difference, it can be tricky for self-appointed group leader Birdie to keep the peace. The group must decide how they want to commemorate an attack that happened to LGBT+ people, in a country far away. How do you take to the streets and protest if you’re not ready to tell the world who you are? If you’re invisible, does your voice still count? A play about love, commemoration and protest.

The Masque Youth Theatre Senior Group are performing this new play as part of the National Theatre Connections Festival 2018. MYT will be performing the play again at the Royal and Derngate on Sunday May 6th.

Please note this play is rated 14+ and does contain language that some people may find offensive.

Taster Day for 7-12 year olds

It was terrific to welcome some 7-12 year olds to Masque Youth Theatre on Thursday August 24th. We had a day of games, dressing-up, acting short scenes, dressing-up, more games and dressing-up! Hopefully this gave them a taste of what MYT is all about and hopefully we shall see them again in September. Thank you to all who came along.
