Stuff by Tom Wells

Vicky’s organising a surprise party for her mate, Ant. It’s not going well : her choice of venue is a bit misguided, Ant’s not keen on leaving the house and everyone else has their own stuff going on.

A play about trying (but not really managing) to help.

The Masque Youth Theatre Senior Group are performing this new play as part of the National Theatre Connections Festival 2019.

First performances are at Northampton High School on Sunday March 10th : 11.30am and 2pm. Tickets are £5 on the door.Stuff poster (finished)

MYT will be performing the play again at the Royal and Derngate on Sunday April 7th.

Please note this play is rated 14+ and does contain language that some people may find offensive.

Summer School 2018 – physical theatre and film-making

Summer School 2018 began with a day of physical theatre. Led by Emily Wachter, our students played around with physical methods of storytelling. They produced both comedic versions of well-known stories as well as Frantic Assembly style, emotional movement pieces. Days Two and Three were given to film-making. Amy Whitestone, ex-MYT, led a project in which the students experimented with cameras and made their own short films which will be available to view on our social media platforms – COMING SOON!

Many thanks to Tim, Emily and Amy for a terrific three days and to our brilliant MYT students who are always a pleasure to spend time with.

Next up, the beginning of Connections 2019 on September 6th.

MYT at Northampton Active

Masque Youth Theatre enjoyed a terrific day at Northampton Active in Abington Park on Wednesday August 1st. This is a free event for primary school aged children, organised by Trilogy Leisure, where community groups put on free activities. A small MYT cast (Sam,  Nancy, James and Tim) performed the story of Little Red Riding Scarf four times through the day and gave out flyers to children and parents. My thanks go to Nancy, Sam and Tim for giving up their time to promote MYT.
